A Light Switch

(From The Hartford Courant -- By Jim Shea)

Under the best of circumstances, the changing of the clocks is
a confusing affair -- spring forward, fall back -- or is it spring back, and fall forward?

Regardless, the whole changing of the clocks ceremony is about to get even more complicated.

Beginning next year, we will turn our clocks ahead one hour on the second Sunday in March (March 11th), rather than the first Sunday in April. In the fall, we will turn our clocks back one hour on the first Sunday in November (November 4th), rather than the last Sunday in October.

These changes will give us about an extra month of DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.

The new format was mandated by CONGRESS in 2005
as part of an energy bill.

It is claimed the adjustments will save 10,000 barrels of oil
a day.
