There's No RYAN In Baseball

(From The New York Post -- By Andrew Marchand)

ESPN SUNDAY NIGHT BASEBALL reporter SAM RYAN is officially done at ABC/ESPN and is headed to WCBS-2 in
New York to be its weekend sports anchor.

Ryan will also do features nationally for CBS on THE NFL TODAY and college basketball.

According to sources, Ryan will receive a slight BUMP from her six-figure ESPN salary, but her new salary is unknown.
[Leave ESPN. Better money? Better schedule? Hmmmm.]

Ryan declined to discuss negotiations.

She did emphasize the main reason she left ESPN was to get off the road.

"This will allow me to be a soccer mom," Ryan said.

Ryan will anchor locally on Friday and Saturday nights and file reports during the week.

At ABC, Ryan was the network's lead college football sideline reporter, while at ESPN she worked on Sunday Night Baseball.

ESPN may not replace Ryan on Sunday Night Baseball.

Last Sunday, ERIN ANDREWS took Ryan's place, but this week no one will join PETER GAMMONS as an on-site reporter. With JON MILLER and JOE MORGAN in the booth and Gammons chiming in semi-regularly, ESPN may stand pat.
