MICHAEL WILBON Auditions To Replace "JB" On FOX NFL SUNDAY

(From DCR TV)

FTV LIVE tells us that WASHINGTON POST sports columnist MICHAEL WILBON has auditioned to fill the shoes of
JAMES BROWN as the top anchor on FOX NFL SUNDAY.

Brown is jumping to CBS's THE NFL TODAY.

And FTV Live reveals that FOX is holding "very secret auditions" to find a replacement for DC area resident "JB."

The word is that FOX first wanted to put analyst TERRY BRADSHAW in Brown's role, but after some test runs the network scrapped that idea.

In addition to Wilbon, who also co-hosts ESPN's PARDON THE INTERRUPTION with fellow Postie TONY KORNHEISER, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT talent KEVIN FRAZIER and
PAM OLIVER, the current sideline reporter for FOX NFL, are also being tested for the gig.

Bradshaw, HOWIE LONG and JIMMIE JOHNSON will continue in their current roles on the FOX football show.

"Since all three are white males, it is a good bet that the fourth will be a women or minority," FTV Live adds.

However, a FOX SPORTS spokesman tells DCR TV, "While I can't comment on who has auditioned for a role on FOX NFL SUNDAY, Michael Wilbon has not. To the best of my knowledge, he's under contract to ESPN."

In response to that comment, FTV Live editor SCOTT JONES affirms to DCR TV that there "is no question that Wilbon taped a secret audition" for FOX.

Tim Harmon, thanks for the post.
