BBC R&D

(From The Avid Yahoo User's Group)

The BBC bought a bunch of DVS HD IO cards to build test rigs to analyse the quantity of covertly upconverted content in delivered programs. I was intrigued so I dug a bit deeper.

Apparently BBC R&D have designed a suite of tests that are able to determine if, and how much, upconverted SD material a delivered HD program contains.

If it's more than the agreed amount then they will reject it.

Very clever, those R&D fellows.
