I'm sorry if I'm terribly behind the technology curve, but I was surprised when I first learned that USB 2.0 is faster than FIREWIRE 400.
But then even MORE surprised to learn that if you hang even a single, simple USB 1.0 device (like a mouse) off the same bus, the speed of the entire bus drops to USB 1.0, thereby killing the speed of your USB 2.0 transfer.
Something to be wary of.
