X GAMES Attendance Falls Just Short Of 2005 Record

(From Sports Business Daily)

WINTER X GAMES 10's five-day attendance total was 69,650, "just 100 short of last year’s record" of 69,750, according to CHRISTINE BENEDETTI of THE ASPEN DAILY NEWS.

Saturday's attendance of 28,250 marked a single-day attendance record for THE WINTER X GAMES, but Sunday’s attendance was down 2,000 from the same day in 2005.

ESPN X Games Director of Media Services MELISSA GULLOTTI said attendance was down Sunday "because of the snow, with the combination of a powder day, and people down valley not wanting to make the drive."

ROARING FORK TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY and X Games officials said that attendance is measured "through a credential count and bus passenger numbers." The numbers are not exact, but are "reasonably accurate" because "almost everyone in attendance at the X Games takes the bus."
