MATERIAL EXCHANGE FORMAT (MXF) is a media format to go with AAF that is supposed to make the media more shareable.
It's kind of what OMF was supposed to be.
If you use MXF as opposed to OMFI in SYMPHONY NITRIS, your renders will be greatly accelerated.
[So, it's better -- right?]
The format is currently in front of SMPTE for standards certification.
