Some companies are creating sleek wood casings for popular electronics so you can have the latest technology but with a warmer touch.
SWEDZ encases SAMSUNG flat-screen TV's and computer monitors (matching keyboard and mouse available) in beech, ash or sapele frames ($515-$2,799).
HOLZKONTOR, a designer of wood peripherals, has hand-carved monitors in 39 wood species, from ash to zebrano ($5,800-$8,900).
For a retro look, HANNSPREE is offering a wood option complete with faux antenna ($549.99).
HOME MAGAZINE spotlighted the marriage of technology and wood in their September 2005 issue.
"People are going for a polished, glossy wood look so they can get the high-end feel of the electronics with a more natural look," senior editor NICOLE SFORZA says.
