PHOTOSHOP Logo With Shadow Into SYMPHONY

(From The Yahoo Avid User's Group)

Here's a really simple way to take a logo in PHOTOSHOP, create a shadow, and then make it usable for import into SYMPHONY.

Select the logo. Copy and paste on to an empty transparent file of the correct size. Make the drop shadow or style using
Layer Styles. Save as a .png file.

The shadow will appear about twice as dark after import into Symphony as it did in Photoshop -- so err on the lighter side.

As an alternative, right-click on the circular "F" icon on the right side of The Layers Display (in the Layers palette) and select "Create Layer(s)" from the popup menu.

This will put the drop shadow alone on a new layer which can be imported separately and adjusted within the AVID.
