(From The Yahoo Avid User's Group)
I don't think any of the FCP vs. AVID arguments have changed much for over a year now.
What is changing is the "tipping point" has been reached as the next generation of editors learn FCP.
The current generation of editors who know AVID inside out and have learnt FCP are now in demand as educators for those of use who are now having to learn it late in life.
For AVID, focusing on large, multi-seat installations maybe where the profit is, but the mainstream is slipping away, and they don't care.
As they continue to become a niche supplier to these large networks they will become more and more irrelevant.
