You'd be amazed at how many shows are now originated
in DV. So much for it truly being a consumer format.
Everything you see on THE TODAY SHOW and
THE NBC NIGHTLY NEWS (other than live studio cameras and live remotes) comes from video servers using the DV format. Everything we edit for these shows is done in the DV format.
NBC New York is still using D3 for linear editing and in a couple of other control rooms. Primarily, it's all DV.
[People are still using D3. Wow! Gerstel, and you think I am bad using VHS. Maybe you should write NBC as well.]

Hey hey hey, I don't recall ever having given you a hard time for still using VHS. Dial-up yes, VHS no.
Leave the slanderous dialogue to Congress pal..
Oh, and btw, I really can't speak here. All the masters for a certain classic movie network here are on D-2 -- composite digital...
TG,
Until VHS dies and dial-up no longer works (or I move) that's where I'll be. Sorry. Both serve their purpose well at this time.
D2 COMPOSITE Digital?! Yeah, I sense a big future in that! Maybe Turner wants my old VHS decks? Heck, I'll even through in a dial-up for them too.
I guess it's ok though -- they are CLASSIC movie network. Surprised they're not running on 3/4" or 1" like a certain sports network was just a few years ago.
