Home Improvement Show Editor Adds Director's Hat

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DAVE SKOWRONSKI, senior editor for the nationally syndicated home improvement series, RON HAZELTON'S HOUSECALLS, will also serve as the show's director. Mr. Skowronski introduced the concept of instantaneous, on-location editing to the program based on a FINAL CUT PRO platform.

"We are now literally rough cutting as we go," says RON HAZELTON, the show's host and executive producer. "Directors, of course, have to think editorially. In Dave's case, he not only imagines how the shots will cut together, he actually does it on the spot. If something doesn't look just right, we know it immediately and can re-shoot. By combining directing and editing in one person, we save time and money, and get a better quality product."

"There's only one problem," Hazelton commented. "People with Dave's combined talents are rare. I think of him as an endangered species; I've dubbed him a "directoproditor" (director/producer/editor)."
