Hall Of Fame Jockey KRONE Becomes A Mom

(From The USA Today)

It's a girl for Hall of Fame jockey JULIE KRONE. The 42-year-old retired rider gave birth to LORELEI JUDITH KRONE on Tuesday at a San Diego-area hospital, THE DAILY RACING FORM reported Thursday.

The baby weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces. Krone and the baby were doing fine, according to JAY HOVDEY, her husband and a columnist for THE DAILY RACING FORM.

Krone retired in 2004 after winning 3,704 races, including
THE 1993 BELMONT STAKES and THE 2003 BREEDERS' CUP JUVENILE FILLIES.

[I loved watching Julie bring them in at MONMOUTH PARK over the years. She was a fantastic jockey. Congratulations Julie!]
