(From Men's Health Magazine)
Opening your next meeting with the joke about the cheerleader and the ball boy is not a good idea.
But a new UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AT BOTHELL study suggests that in certain kinds of workplaces, SEXUAL BANTER can promote camaraderie and bonding among coworkers.
Such interaction can "make people feel happy, free, and more human," says KARI LERUM, PH.D. -- and that may lead to greater efficiency.
Lerum stresses that her findings are specific to THE SERVICE INDUSTRY (she collected her data in restaurants) and apply only where employees are fairly equal in status and work closely together.
She adds, "It only works if everyone is on board."
[Well, we are a service organization, correct?]
