Game over.

DINA FALCO took on the SPORTS DIRECTOR job at WFSB, CHANNEL 3, two years ago, the first woman to ever have that job. And now she's leaving.

Falco will be leaving in mid-August for RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, where her husband is working.

"She put a new face on sports in CONNECTICUT," says CHANNEL 3 News Director LYN TOLAN. "In addition to making sure we covered major sports, she saw that we covered all the sports people participate in."

Rumors have abounded that TONY TERZI, former sports reporter for WTIC, CHANNEL 61, is front-runner for the job. He left CHANNEL 61 earlier this year to work in sales for BUILDING ONE MAINTENANCE, a commercial cleaning service in WALLINGFORD, and he's heard the talk, starting a couple of weeks ago.
[Yes. That's the same BUILDING ONE MAINTENANCE cleaning company ESPN employs. ESPN is it's largest client.]

"I've said to people that the only way I would get back into television would be if I had the opportunity to work with my dad (AL TERZI, CHANNEL 3 news anchor).

No one from CHANNEL 3 has contacted him, he said.

"If and when that happens, we'll cross that bridge," Tony Terzi said. "Meanwhile, I'm trying to help the family (owned by his cousins) commercial cleaning business."

C'mon, hasn't he missed TV reporting?

"Not one bit," he said. "I got to help coach T-ball and soccer, which I never could have done before."

[Dina was one of my favorites. Originally from LONG ISLAND, she was a former competitive gymnast, (she competed for ten years). Now she spends her time playing golf, doing yoga and traveling with her husband. I'll miss her.]
