Televised Football Marks 70th Anniversary
Televised football marked its 70th anniversary September 30th, recalling the 1939 match between Waynesburg College and Fordham University aired on an experimental NBC station as part of that year's NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR.
The game, which was televised using RCA cameras and mobile production trucks, was broadcast to a 50-mile radius of the New York metro area.
