(From Cynopsis)
SENATOR BARACK OBAMA's presidential campaign bought a commercial-free half-hour on CBS in primetime for a special on October 29 at 8 pm.
On this night, CBS will move THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE back to 8:30 pm and pre-empt GARY UNMARRIED.
Washington-based advertising agency, GMMB placed the buy and Sen. Obama's campaign also bought a half-hour on NBC and is in talks with FOX to make a like purchase but there could be a scheduling problem due to a potential World Series game that night.
Other presidential candidates have bought longform buys in primetime before as ROSS PEROT made a similar purchase in 1992.
